This Privacy Policy explains how eventSS (“eventSS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the eventSS mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App” or “Service”). eventSS is an iOS app that helps you save, organize, discover, and share events, invite friends, and build packing lists.
By creating an account or using eventSS, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide directly
- Account & authentication: Email address; password (if you sign up with email); the unique identifier and email provided by Sign in with Apple. Used to create and secure your account.
- Profile: Display name, username, optional phone number, and an optional profile photo. Used to personalize your account and help friends recognize you.
- Event content: Events you create or save, including title, date/time, location name and approximate coordinates, organizer, description, price, ticket URL, category, and any event image.
- Social activity: Friend requests and friendships; event invitations (which may include the invited person’s phone number); your RSVP / attendance status.
- User-generated content: Comments and optional comment images; packing lists and items you add.
- Images you submit for AI processing: Screenshots, flyers, posters, or photos you choose to share so the App can extract event details.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device push token: When you enable notifications, we store an APNs device token to deliver event reminders and updates.
- Technical & log data: IP address, request timestamps, and basic diagnostic logs to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
- On-device storage: A local copy of certain data (e.g. an onboarding flag and cached events) so the App works smoothly.
eventSS does not use third-party advertising networks, tracking pixels, or analytics SDKs such as Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Segment, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
1.3 Device permissions we may request
- Contacts: If you allow it, the App reads phone numbers from your contacts locally and checks (using only the last 10 digits) whether any of them already use eventSS. We do not upload, store, or share your full contact list.
- Calendar (write-only): To add events you save to your iOS Calendar. We do not read your existing calendar entries.
- Notifications: To send event reminders.
- Photos / image selection: To let you choose a profile photo, event image, or a screenshot to import event details from.
Location search is performed using Apple Maps based on text you enter. The App does not continuously track your device’s GPS location in the background.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Create, authenticate, and secure your account.
- Provide core features: saving and organizing events, RSVPs, invitations, friends, comments, and packing lists.
- Extract event details from images you submit and generate packing-list recommendations.
- Send you event reminders and service-related notifications.
- Help you find friends who already use eventSS.
- Operate, maintain, debug, and improve the Service, and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. How We Share Information
We share information only as described below. We do not sell your personal information.
3.1 With other users
Some information is shared with other users as part of the App’s social features — for example, your display name, username, and avatar; events you make available to friends; comments you post; RSVP status; and invitations you send.3.2 With service providers

3.3 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if required by law or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, or to investigate fraud or abuse.3.4 Business transfers

7. How We Protect Your Information
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- Access to stored data is governed by database row-level security policies.
- Authentication and credentials are managed by our authentication provider; we never store your Apple credentials.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your device secure.
8. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights:
- Access & portability — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — update your display name, username, phone number, avatar, and event content directly in the App.
- Deletion — delete individual events or your entire account from within the App’s settings.
- Withdraw permissions — revoke Contacts, Calendar, Notifications, or Photos access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Objection / restriction — ask us to limit or stop certain processing.
To exercise any right, use the in-App controls or contact us at privacy@eventss.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (1) know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose; (2) request deletion of your personal information; (3) request correction of inaccurate personal information; and (4) not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
