Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the eventSS mobile application and the website at eventss.app (together, the “Service”), operated by eventSS (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and can form a binding contract.

2. The Service

eventSS helps you discover, save, and share local events. The app can analyze screenshots and images you submit to extract structured event information — such as title, date, time, and location — using automated, AI-based processing. You may then review, edit, and save those events or share them with others.

3. Your Account

You create an account using your email address or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your device secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Your Content

You retain ownership of the screenshots, images, and event data you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process, transmit, and store Your Content solely to provide the Service to you — including sending it to our processing providers (see our Privacy Policy). We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it for advertising.

You represent that you have the right to submit Your Content and that doing so does not violate any law or the rights of any third party. Do not submit images containing others’ personal information unless you are permitted to do so.

5. AI-Generated Output and Accuracy

Event details extracted by eventSS are produced by automated AI processing and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying every extracted event — particularly dates, times, and locations — before relying on it. We are not responsible for missed appointments, scheduling errors, or any consequences arising from inaccurate extraction.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to submit content you have no right to submit;
attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems;
use the Service to process content that is illegal, abusive, or that infringes others’ rights;
resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.

7. Find Friends and Contacts

If you use the Find Friends feature, you confirm that you have a lawful basis to share your contacts’ information with us for the purpose of matching them on eventSS, and that you will not use the feature to harass or spam anyone. This feature is optional and is not required to use the Service. See our Privacy Policy for how contact data is handled.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties including Google (Gemini API), Supabase, Apple, and Vercel. Your use of the Service is also subject to their applicable terms. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of these providers.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding (excluding Your Content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT EXTRACTED DATA WILL BE ACCURATE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF USD $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco, California, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

15. Apple-Specific Terms

If you download eventSS from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the Service or its support. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
